Google Ads Site and Brand Redesign

A redesign and narrative shift for a global brand

Google Ads is the marketing site and front door of the Google Advertising platform. In 2022-23 I worked with the creative team at R/GA to redesign and refresh the website with the main goal of shifting the narrative of the site to target key users and their journeys.

ROLE

APPROACH
From an early stage, I worked with the client team to ground the redesign in Usability, Accessibility, and Performance best practices.

  • I conducted usability test to validate hypothesis, like card sorting and tree tests, and also preference testing to help stakeholder decision making.

  • I was responsible for high fidelity wireframes, ideation and first round reviews with clients

  • I was responsible for specifications, authoring specs, and handoff to development

IMPACT
Increases in conversion globally, reduced customer drop off, reduced calls to specialty support channels and increases in customer lifetime value.

The redesign was created modularly and the Modular Design Library “GADS” has been adopted across the Ads Marketing team. The Modular design library speed our time to market, making our global redesign the fastest time to market for our client.
